To keep the firm sensitive to community issues, Bateman Consulting LLC is involved in a selection of volunteer civic activities regarding economic development, homelessness, diversity and caring society. The firm also stays in touch with industry standards and trends through a commitment to attendance at professional conferences.

  • President and cofounding board member of Lifetime Secure Personal Assistance Network (LifeSPAN): LifeSPAN, a Washington non-profit founded in 2001, is the first U.S. affiliate model of the award-winning PLAN of British Columbia, Canada. The family directed organization helps families plan safe, secure and quality futures for relatives with disabilities.
  • Member of The Rotary Club of Seattle (#4): Trustee, Seattle Rotary Service Foundation; Past Chair and member, Community Service Committee; Member, International Committee.
  • Mentor to students and minority businesses in University of Washington’s Business and Economic Development Program: From 2001 to 2006, Ms. Bateman served as a Rotary Club of Seattle (Seattle #4) business mentor to several student teams and inner-city businesses and non-profits in the area of social enterprise development, on-line communication and marketing.
  • Past Vice Chair of United Way of King County’s “Out of the Rain” initiative to end homelessness: Through this initiative, United Way of King County is joining a growing county vision to end homelessness in ten years by helping shape a future where homelessness is not a given.
